Vineyard Cotes du Rhone is one of the oldest in France. The wines produced here in the days of the Roman Empire. Climate Cotes du Rhone more constant than in other French wine regions. There is almost always hot and sunny, almost never frost. More than 75% produced in Cotes du Rhone wines – red. The main grape varieties are planted here for red wine – Grenache, Syrah and Carignan. The wines of this area are obtained, as a rule, strong, durable and higher alcohol content than most French wines.
Cotes du Rhone vineyards “Belryush” includes four departments: Drôme, Vaucluse, Gard and Ardèche. Their soil – alluvial clay-carbonate terraces – let grow grapes with an unusually rich and complex flavor.
Wine House M.Shapute was founded in 1808. Distant ancestor Chapoutier – Polydor was the first who began to buy vines, becoming not just a winegrower but wine producer and businessman. The current president of the Wine House – Michel Chapoutier – a representative of the seventh generation of the family, a person charismatic and energetic, curious and visionary. Before becoming a winemaker, Michel traveled. During these visits, he carefully studied the diversity, richness and subtlety of wine. In his farm he managed to combine this knowledge with the rich traditions of the family.
