In 1863, Jean-Baptiste Camus Cognac House founded Camus, whose goal was to produce only the highest quality cognac. Within a few years Cognac Camus won the hearts of Europeans, and later became the official cognac at the court of Nicholas II. For the production of high-quality Camus selects the best harvest in the intricate art of assemblage and distillation of wine used a number of family secrets that are passed from generation to generation. Each step in the manufacturing process is strictly controlled by the masters. The company has its own vineyards in the best areas of the region of Cognac: Grand and Petit Champagne, Fins Bois, Bons Bois. Brandy is made from grapes Ugni Blan, Folle Blanche and Colombard, which is aged in barrels of Limousin oak and tronseyskogo. Maturation takes place in several stages: young alcohols two months aged in new barrels, then poured into the old, in which several boards (staves) are replaced by new ones. Camus Cognac House – is an independent family-owned company, whose head, Jean-Paul Camus, personally engaged in assemblage of cognac. Camus is one of the best-selling brandy.
